Isobel Kuhn at this time covered by this book and of her recruitment to the C.I.M. After that, for the next twenty years, with two furloughs, she and her husband were with the Lisu tribe in south-west China. Because of the Communist occupation they left China in 1950 and entered Thailand in 1952 to work again among the Lisu there. Ill-health brought her home for surgery in 1954, when she began to write Ascent to the Tribes. Her other books include Nests Above the Abyss and Stones of Fire.
