Description

In this concise booklet, John Murray examines how throughout all ages God redeems his people by means of his covenant of grace. Emphasizing the organic unity of God’s successive covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, and Christ, Murray explains how each differing covenant administration builds on those before it, in a progressive outpouring of God’s saving revelation, culminating in Christ.

Murray’s particular objective is to contribute toward “a more biblically articulated and formulated construction of the covenant concept and of its application to our faith, hope, and love.”

The Author

Born in Sutherland, Scotland in 1898, John Murray distinguished himself as a theologian of the first rank during his years of service at Westminster Theological Seminary. There he taught systematic theology from 1930 until his retirement in 1966.
